I AM, it should be emphasised, a Beach Boys freak from way back, to 'Wendy' and 'Surfin' U.S.A.', through Pet Sounds to Surfs Up, and I went to the Royal Festival Hall prepared not to like the new look band with their auxiliary members Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar — I was completely converted. They were superb!
