WHEN PRIMAL SCREAM released Screamadelica in 1991, they forged an indissoluble link between Brit indie-rock and underground dance culture that led directly to the sound of Underworld and the Chemical Brothers. An exhilarating fusion of late '60s Stones and druggy club grooves, it was a revelation to anyone who knew the early Byrdsy sound of Sonic Flower Groove (1987). It also put Creation Records firmly on the commercial map, paving the way for labelmates Oasis.
