The Cramps: Tales Of American Gothick
Nick Kent, NME, 23 June 1979
THE TITLE OF the film escapes me, but the scene itself has remained indelibly stained on my brainplate for all of nine years. A strange '50s epic starring Bob Hope and mixing the latter's quick-quipped humour with a truly creepy sense of Gothic horror, the scene itself involves a Bayou swamp across which Hope is being taken by boat to a supposedly haunted mansion hidden deep in Creole mist.
