IT SEEMED as though Don Felder came from nowhere to join The Eagles during the recording of On The Border (he is listed with the band members as a "late arrival"), but that could hardly be further from the truth. The 32-year old guitarist has been studying music and recording and paying dues since he was a youth in Gainesville, Florida, where he was born.
