The Emotions: Flowers
Joe McEwen, Rolling Stone, 9 September 1976
SALVAGED FROM THE debris of the Stax bankruptcy, the Emotions have reemerged with one of the year's most refreshing soul albums. Producer Maurice White, who was successful with Earth, Wind and Fire and Ramsey Lewis, has rejuvenated the Emotions' breathy love-song approach. Flowers is the most fully realized vocal-group album of 1976.
