Allan Clarke – one of the group's co-founders, lead vocalist on all the hits and collaborating composer on ‘Long, Cool Woman’, ‘On a Carousel’, ‘Stop, Stop, Stop’ and others – has left the group on the verge of what might have become their greatest American success.
