The Isley Brothers: Winner Takes All
Davitt Sigerson, Melody Maker, 16 June 1979
3 + 3 DON'T MIND they just keep on jamming. Strings and horns? Uh-uh. They just go up to Bearsville. Ernie puts down the drums with Marvin slapping bass and Chris Jasper locking the chords on a Rhodes. Ernie adds some rhythm guitars and maybe a Hendrix-style lead, Marvin dubs on a higher, twangier bass part and Chris fills the rhythm with a clavinet and a few synthesizers.
