The Love Parade

NOTE: As a veteran of the event, I have written a lot about the Love Parade – for various music magazines in the UK, for the gay lifestyle magazine Attitude, for Tip in Berlin, for Time Out – and this piece for the now defunct Prague-based pan-Eastern European magazine, Pozor (I was living and working in Prague that summer of 1996). In a way, it forms a kind of diptych with the later piece for the same magazine on the free festival in Hostomice.
