The Mock Turtles
Robert Sandall, Q, September 1991
THE FACT THAT HE is considerably more famous now than at any point in his previous 30 years has come as no particular surprise to the Mock Turtles' main man and master planner Martin Coogan. "We knew we would achieve a degree of success with 'Can You Dig It?' and that it would open doors for the band," he observes flatly. "We're very much aware of the song's light pop status and we're very conscious of playing the system at its own game."
