OF ALL the so-called lesser known American vocal groups, the O'Jays are one of the most remarkable. Not only have they been together for well over a decade but they have frequently confounded their critics by coming up with success on record often enough to keep them working on a full-time basis. In this country, though, they are one of the most respected groups of all, being almost a household name with the Soul lovers of this strange isle.
