EMBOLDENED BY the success of both Voodoo Lounge and Stripped, the Stones have retained Don Was as co-producer for their third album in succession, a semi-permanent appointment only briefly interrupted here by contributions from The Dust Brothers and Danny Saber, the two modern production units whose work (with, respectively, Beck/Beastie Boys and Black Grape) most effectively updates the classic raunch of the Stones' purple period.
