CONFRONTED BY THE FIRST STUDIO ALBUM IN NEARLY FIVE years, for most Stones fans the question is not, Is it as good as Exile/Beggars/name your own?, but rather, Will the purchase entail wasted money and cringing embarrassment as one tries to defend its paltry merits from sneering friends and, quite possibly, teenage children? The short answer is yes and no.
