IF YOU ASK PEOPLE to name the most influential punk-rock bands of all time – even people who boast scarily high levels of pop-culture awareness you'll get a pretty predictable list: the Ramones. the Sex Pistols, the Clash and so on. It's a good bet that the Slits won't be mentioned, and that's just plain wrong.
