NOT AN evening for those with sensitive eardrums, this. Even these days when volume for its own sake seems to be a pre-requisite of too many young groups, both support band The Brakes and Cambridge based bill-toppers the Soft Boys seemed louder than the average. Luckily, in their contrasting ways, both outfits had musical talent to match.
