The Waterboys
Robert Sandall, Q, May 1991
"NOBODY SETS OUT TO BAFFLE PEOPLE; at least, I don't think they do." As general observations go, this sounds sensible enough, and it causes no Guinness to be spilt in the dark, wood-panelled Dublin bar in which it is spoken. It is a startlingly odd remark all the same though, coming from the pale Donovanesque-looking person who just made it.
