JACK AND MEG White are the future of the very industry for which their label espouses such compassion. These Detroit-based guitar/drum siblings strip Jon Spencer-style blues-rock down to minimal component parts that’ll rock your socks off. Bassless, they’re the Archies crossed with Panther Burns, and they’re so-fisticated enough to equate the aesthetic ideals of this De Stijl dude with the raw grit of Son House and Blind Willie McTell. Très cool.
