RICKIE LEE JONES is telling a story on the radio: "In the dreamscape where you write, there are people who shadow you. Like I have a little story about Gloria. She always stays in the kitchen. She never leaves there. She always has her hair in curlers, and a drink in her hand, and a window at her shoulder and a table beneath her arms. She has nowhere else to go and nothing else to do. Through the window, Gloria can see my father in the yard where he lived. And I can see Gloria. And I can change my father's past by changing what happens to Gloria. So sometimes I put a real nice warm scotch in her glass so that my father can have a nice glass of scotch instead of bourbon..."
