WITH THE passing of time, a tragic event sometimes reveals a comic nuance. One night in 1964, the Skatalites were performing at Club Calypso in Falmouth, Jamaica. Here this band, whose members were essential to the birth of ska in the early Sixties, discovered their jerky, infectious rhythms were quite deadly.
