Tom Waits: Hammersmith Apollo, London

SO MANY desperate, disappointed people loitered without hope outside the Apollo for this show that one felt vaguely ashamed being in possession of a ticket. Heartless it was of Tom Waits to stay away for 17 years and then book a solitary London date. But such are the whims of this great American anti-hero.
