Tony Visconti Talks

Stuart Grundy, John Tobler, 'The Record Producers' (BBC Books), 1982

IN MUCH THE same way that George Martin is known for his work with the Beatles, anyone who has ever inspected the small print on the vast majority of LPs by David Bowie will have spotted the name of Tony Visconti. Add to the Bowie connection a list which includes Marc Bolan, Thin Lizzy, the Boomtown Rats and Hazel O'Connor, and it begins to be perfectly obvious that Tony Visconti is an exeedingly important record producer, and one whose influence has now stretched over rather more than a decade without any sign of diminishing.
