Van Morrison: Hymns To The Silence
Phil Sutcliffe, Q, October 1991
QUINTESSENTIALLY quare maybe, but Van Morrison is certainly a worker. His third new album within 27 months weighs in at 95 minutes. For Van addicts it sounds like heaven: that beautifully played assortment of R&B, country, and church (both black and white). However, his curmudgeonliness does leave ample scope for the unfaithful to carp.
