IT SEEMS inconceivable now, but Humble Pie were once very, very big, albeit for a short while. In recent years – post-Loaded, post-Britpop, post-lad, post-PC and post-Rachel Hunter – the Faces have been fully reinstated into the pop pantheon, but a similar reassessment of Steve Marriott's career after he split as leader of the Small Faces appears most unlikely.
