What Big Brother Is Up To
Ben Edmonds, Circus, October 1970
THE EXPLOITS OF Janis Joplin in her post-Big Brother days are inevitably front-page material, but what of the band she left behind? Big Brother & the Holding Company have only recently resurfaced, doing a number of selected gigs and putting the finishing touches on their upcoming album (Columbia). The story of where they've been, however, is the rock and roll rags to riches tale in reverse. The story of where they're going is the story of a band reborn.
