Where’s the Money from Monterey Pop?

For the first issue of Rolling Stone in November, 1967, editor Jann Wenner asked me to do an investigative piece on what had happened to the money from the previous Junes Monterey Pop Festival, money that had been designated to go to various unspecified charities.
The first story that follows is my first report; the second is the tragi-comic conclusion published the next May.
