Wilco: Taking Control in a Crisis
Ben Thompson, Daily Telegraph, 28 March 2002
ROCK AND ROLL is not the first place you would look for a new form of patriotism. Yet Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, the latest album by Wilco, comes as close to that goal as American art has been able to in the aftermath of September 11. The cultural significance of this unassuming record is underlined by the fact that the band's record company did not even want to release it.
