2013 NOTE: Hard to imagine today but even as late as 1972 the contributions of the old black blues masters were still not recognized by mainstream rock 'n' roll fans, though Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, Savoy Brown and Jeff Beck re-packaged (i.e. whitened up) American blues and made a fortune selling it to American kids as the 'British' sound.
