Wipers: Youth Of America (Park Avenue)***½
Ralph Traitor, Sounds, 12 January 1982
THE WIPERS come from Seattle Washington, deep in the great American Northwest, home previously to the likes of The Sonics and Paul Revere and the Raiders. This being so, I expect a lot because those two groups contributed significantly to Sixties teen tornado music. I believe you can take the group out of the Northwest but you can't take the Northwest out of the group and, thankfully, this seems to be the case.
