Kennedy only wanted one star, Parnes wanted a constellation, 'the Parnes stable of stars': Marty Wilde, Billy Fury, Dickie Pride, Vince Eager (all of whom were placed in the NME's popularity poll in 1959 along with Tommy Steele) and others.
