SCENES OF PRIMAL rock'n'roll hoopla are not the normal preserve of a Butlins holiday camp. Yet behind the stage of the Reds ballroom, next door to the clowns' costumes and the gunge machine, a righteous testimonial is occurring. It's December 10, 2006: The Stooges and the MC5, kingpins of the mighty late-'60s Detroit rock scene, are gathered together in the same room for the first time in over 35 years.
