Othar Turner 1907-2003
Phast Phreddie Patterson, Rock's Backpages, March 2003 BAMBOO CANE FIFE player and drummer Othar Turner (94) died of a heart condition on February 27 at one of his daughters home in Gravel Springs, Mississippi. He played in The Rising Star Fife & Drum Band and his music was used in the recent film Gangs of New York.
