Little Eva 1943-2003
Phast Phreddie Patterson, Rock's Backpages, April 2003 SINGER LITTLE EVA (59) died of cervical cancer at a hospital in Kinston, North Carolina on April 10. She was born Eva Narcissus Boyd on June 29, 1943 in Belhaven, North Carolina. Her family called her Little Eva in order to differentiate from the aunt who she was named after. Little Eva sang in The Boyd Five, a gospel group consisting of several of her 12 siblings.
