Aynsley Dunbar: Let There Be Drums!

SAN FRANCISCO – Within the world of rock and roll there are certain performers whose distinctive virtuosity transcend their individual works recorded with a particular band at a particular time. Eric Clapton comes to mind, as do Mike Bloomfield, Jimmy page, Van Morrison, Al Kooper. Of all the rock drummers in the world, Aynsley Dunbar – and maybe Ginger Baker – would have to be considered in this heady company. Surely Dunbar has played with more people than any other drummer imaginable, but, even more significant is the Dunbar trademark: unsurpassed versatility.
