Billy, Walter and Johnny: The Heartbreakers
Jon Savage, Sounds, 1 October 1977 INTERVIEW TAKES place on a second floor flat, a stones throw away from the Thames. Present are: Walter Lure and Billy Rath, singer/guitarist and bassist with the Heartbreakers singing group respectively, Leee Black Childers and Loopy, management, yours truly, Jon Savage and Patti Paladin, Snatch chanteuse. Lure and Rath have flown in from the States within the last 24 hours (separately). Johnny Thunders has missed his flight, Jerry Nolan is incommunicado in the country. Both Nolan and Thunders are absent and very few New York Dolls questions are asked. Refreshments are liquid/words of wisdom are caught on a TDK 90 through a Ferguson 3289, reproduced in transcript for verite and atmosphere.....
