It was the energy. passion and technique of guitarist Edward Van Halen which early on set this band apart from the hordes of others, and now with the Pasadena-raised quartet about to release its sixth record, it is obvious that Edward has been recognized as the main catalyst of the instrument here in the ‘80s.
