Wild Bill’s Forget Beale Street, as Wild Bill’s is far closer to both the blues and Memphis’s heartbeat than the likes of BB King’s club. Bring your own bottle of Crown Royal and the good folks at this urban juke joint will sell you set ups (a bottle of mixer, a plastic tub of ice and as many paper cups as you need) at a very reasonable price. Take a well-earned rest at a communal table between turns around the floor, to the soul-shakin’ sounds of local legend Wilroy Sanders’ band, and be prepared to be asked "Where ya from, sugar?" by someone who’s dressed-to-impress, circa 1958.
