"All Folk Music Now" at Newport

THIS YEAR'S Newport Folk Festival was more like a blues show or a pop show, with traditional folk music supported by a very small hard core of enthusiasts. That was the verdict of Julia Creasey from Roy Guest's Folk Directions agency, when I spoke to her on the transatlantic telephone at the end of this year's festival at the weekend.
