Are We Making Art Yet? Music in the age of interactive entertainment

MUSIC, OF course, has always been interactive. People dance to it, make love to it, sing along with the lyrics and figure out the chord changes. They formulate sociological theories about it and transcribe its harmonic structure. Any piece of music, from a field holler to a symphony, is a multi-faceted construct. It can provide an infinite number of unique listening experiences, depending on the mindset you bring to it. That's why they call it art, isn't it?
