Bap Kennedy: The Big Picture

Adam Sweeting, The Guardian, 11 February 2005

BAP KENNEDY used to front Energy Orchard, and then, with a bit of help from Steve Earle, he discovered the symbiotic qualities of Irish folk music and country. His latest solo album continues in the same yee-har-begorrah vein, lassoing lumps of country and rock'n'roll and fencing them in with slabs of Celtic traditional music. The results are always pleasant, always bland and usually lethargic.
