Beck: New Weird Order

IT'S THE MIDDLE of a lazy Los Angeles spring day, and the view from the roof of the Griffith Observatory reveals a sprawling basin shrouded in a slight mellow gold haze. You can't see forever, but it beats the hell out of the brown sludge of summertime, when every breath is a unique taste treat.
