THE QUEST for that intangible magic with which so few of us are blessed, can often entail a very long journey indeed. And whilst Bill Withers has reached that apotheosis long before anyone could have anticipated, it took me a long journey to the deepest South to discover that everything that appears on those Sussex hit singles is magnified to an alarming extent once Bill is in contact with his audience.
