STANDING MAYBE 5'7" high, blond hair surrounding a Paul Kantner-shaped face framed by a pair of oversized red-plastic-framed glasses, John "Moon" Martin is about the unlikeliest candidate for rock stardom since you-know-who. But if Elvis is King around your castle, then Moon must be considered a contender. Would we have missed him (as a stage performer in his own right) had he stayed home writing tunes for Mink DeVille and Michelle Phillips? Probably not.
