WORCESTER – During the mid-part of the decade just past, Bon Jovi set the standard for American arena rock: middlebrow, confection-like, pop /hard rock with little edge, a lot of hair and a whiff of leather-and-jean-clad sexiness. What Journey and Foreigner were to the '70s, Bon Jovi – fronted by singer Jon Bon Jovi – was to the '80s.
