PAT BOONE, WHO GOT HIS START before rock and roll was invented, remarked in 2008 that he had issues with the fact that he hadn't (and still hasn't) been named to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, when other performers, who didn't sing rock music, had. The two examples named in Nashville Tennessean writer Beverly Keel's story were Johnny Cash...and Brenda Lee.
