Brian Wilson/The Beach Boys - A Celebration Of Wild Honey: a discussion with David Anderle

Paul Williams, Outlaw Blues, 1971

WHEN DAVID ANDERLE AND I BEGAN our discussion of Brian Wilson, we had just finished listening to Wild Honey (the Beach Boys, Capitol Records, November 1967) for about the second time. We were depressed. We both count ourselves among the World's Most Loyal Brian Wilson Fans — David worked with Brian and the Beach Boys in 1966-67, as a friend, as an advisor in the realm of business, as the head of Brother Records (the Beach Boys' own record company) — but we just couldn't see anything in this new album. This is reflected in our comments throughout the interview.
