Can: New Victoria Theatre, London

Karl Dallas, Melody Maker, 11 December 1976

VIEWED IN isolation, Can's recent singles seem like some kind of sell-out. What, after all, is a "serious" German rock band, whose members include former students of Karlheinz Stockhausen, doing recording quasi-disco funk like 'More' and reggaefied seasonal stuff like their latest single, 'Silent Night'? And yet, performed in a live context, the singles seem not only acceptable, but inevitable.
