Can: The Making of Tago Mago

Max Bell, Classic Rock, April 2011

SUMMER 1971. The five members of Can are huddled around a bottle of wine and a stereo suitcase Revox A77 tape recorder, listening to the final sessions of their new album, recorded in their studio, a room in the West Wing of fabulously baroque 15th century Schloss Norvenich, in Duren, outside of Cologne (Köln) in Northern Westphalia. It will soon be time to deliver the recording to United Artists – in Munich, London and Paris.
