Carrying That Weight With The Trashmen

Metal Mike Saunders, unpublished, 1972

2003 intro: This was an unpublished piece, wherein I strung together actual Dave Marsh phrases from his Bob Dylan polemics (in CREEM) under the name Dave Marshcus. It was intended for the third issue of Mark Shipper's zine Flash, which never came out. Fair time advocates might point out that I, over 15 years later, reviewed Marsh's 1001 Greatest Singles in the U.S. fanzine Swellsville, and called it one of the best books ever written about rock and roll (which would thoroughly disqualify me as a Marsh hater). Obviously it's Bobby Dylan that's the target here – do those disgruntled P.F. Sloan fans ever give it up?

Total word count of piece: 1013
