Crime & The City Solution: Paradise Discotheque (Mute LP/Cassette/CD)

Dele Fadele, New Musical Express, 1 September 1990

THE WAY Crime And The City Solution have transgressed rock's outer limits for the last five years hasn't registered with pundits who only know them from a bit part in Wings Of Desire. Their marginal audience is still a random collection of goths and social rejects who enjoy the fact that they're perennial outsiders, and who still imagine The Birthday Party mean something in this day and age. A very distressing thought, that, but one which will change with the release of Paradise Discotheque, their most commercial and accessible effort yet.
