THREE YEARS AGO, the extraordinary musical The Gospel at Colonus stormed Broadway.  It brilliantly reimagined the Sophocles tragedy Oedipus at Colonus by telling the story through a cavalcade of black gospel music. The narrative was set in a soul-shaking church service led by a minster played by former L.A.C.C. drama student Morgan Freeman.
