Cyndi Lauper: She's So Unusual (Portrait)
J.D. Considine, Record, March 1984
IF GOOD SINGING were its own reward, then She's So Unusual, the solo debut of former Blue Angel singer Cyndi Lauper, would be one hell of an album. As it is, it's far from bad, but there are just too many problems with this album, from conception to execution, for it to live up to Lauper's vocal potential.
